Q. DO I HAVE TO ENROLL IN THE DIPLOMA PROGRAM TO TAKE EMMAUS COURSES?
A. While we do recommend that you enroll as a student (as this facilitates accountability), you do not have to do the entire Diploma program in order to do Emmaus courses. You may do as many individual courses as you wish.
Our goal is NOT to "get you to do courses" ... rather, our goal is to be a resource in helping you to study the Bible for your self & to learn from the Lord, growing in Him & becoming passionate in your walk & witness in Christ.
Q. WITH WHICH COURSES SHOULD I START?
A. We recommend that you start with the "Salvation Series" of courses, followed by the "Foundation Series."
These are our introductory courses, and as such, are quite short & simple. Nevertheless, we do recommend that people start with these series, in order to lay a good foundation of Biblical knowledge before moving on to more challenging material.
As we mark these courses, it also assists us in evaluating where someone "is at" spiritually, so that we can recommend further courses which will be most beneficial & enjoyable to you.
As one progresses, the courses become more in depth, and move on to deeper issues. (If one starts with a course which is too difficult too soon, it can be discouraging & overwhelming!)
Q. BUT ... I've been a Christian for quite a while ... won't these courses be "too simple" for me?
A. We have recently had some folks do the Salvation Series who have been professing believers for many years - they thought these courses would be too basic & simple for them, but upon doing them, they said they really enjoyed them & learned a lot from them! One lady really felt it clarified for her the whole idea of salvation by faith alone, while another commented it was only in doing these courses that she finally really understood 'justification!'
