What was "the Emmaus road" and why was the name 'Emmaus' chosen for this ministry?
In Luke 24 we find two disciples walking on the road to the town of Emmaus discussing the events of Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection ...
As they walked the road to Emmaus ... Jesus Himself drew near and went with them ... He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself... their eyes were opened and they knew Him ... they said to one another, "Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?" (Luke 24:13-32)
Drawing from this event, ECC Canada has formulated our goals:-
1. to introduce people to a relationship of personally knowing Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Lord.
2. to encourage believers to ‘walk with the Lord,’ having their eyes opened by Him, and learning the truths of the Bible first-hand from the Lord Himself.
3. to have believer's hearts 'burn with passion’ as they are gripped with the reality of God’s truth!
